In just her second playing year, Gayle Pascual is tasked to lead the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in the NCAA Season 97. But the high-flyer, although up for the task, believes that teamwork will be the key in their campaign.

“Gusto ni coach, lahat kami nagste-step up,” said Pascual after their 25-10, 25-13, 25-15 victory over San Beda University.

“‘Yung role namin dapat gampanan namin in every game. Kaya naman po nila, I mean tiwala naman ako sa teammates ko na kung ano ‘yung role na binigay ni coach sa kanila, gagawin nila.”

CSB assistant coach Jay Chua said Pascual, along with team captain Mycah Go are expected to fill in the veterans’ role even though they are just playing their sophomore years for the Taft school.

“Dapat sila talaga mag-step up this season kasi sila ‘yung inaasahan ng team since captain si Mycah then si Gayle naman parang co-cap na rin,” said Chua.

Pascual and Go chipped in 10 points each to steer CSB to its first win in the season.
