Are you one of those hateful parents who worry about how you will feed your baby during a nationwide infant formula shortage? Well, you need to take a cooling pill, says Bette Midler.
In response to MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle tweeting about the formula crisis:
The shortage of children’s formulas reveals a surprising secret oligopoly:
– 3 American companies control over 90% of the market
– Extremely restrictive regulations (thanks to large $ lobbying) prohibit foreign formulasName another industry / industry / product like this one
– Stephanie Ruhle (@SRuehle) May 13, 2022
Midler advised parents to stop complaining and TRY BREASTFEEDING, which is much easier for everyone:
TRY BREASTFEEDING! It is free and available upon request. https://t.co/15xetgg1ps

Clearly Bette has thought about it a lot.
No.
Please, we all love you, but cancel it now.
There are a multitude of reasons why a woman cannot or chooses not to breastfeed.
This sentiment isn’t helping mothers trying to prevent their babies from starving right now.

Narrator: We don’t all love Bette Midler. But we agree that you should take him out.
In case it does:
A lot of compassion. Bette’s cups overflow.
Bette, come feed my baby. Apparently it’s on request! https://t.co/5YSygK3Bsu

Sofia obviously jokes. You really shouldn’t let Bette Midler get close to your kids. There is no need to expose them to absolute garbage.
Not all mothers can be an idiot. It’s pretty insulting and sad for you to assume they can. I have witnessed firsthand the unfair guilt that a new mother feels when she wants to breastfeed and she can’t. This makes things worse. You are a terrible human being. https://t.co/3E1fcBj8vl
– whiskeyvice (@whiskeyvice) May 13, 2022
Not just a terrible human being, but a stupidly insulting one.
Breastfeeding is only free if a mother’s time and physical and emotional health are irrelevant. Women are more than people who give birth. https://t.co/S8LPXQeeCA

Seriously? Maybe you should read this thread. I had 2 grandchildren who were unable to breastfeed due to severe cow / soy protein allergies. Mom wanted to do it desperately. This article describes this and many other reasons why not all moms can breastfeed.https://t.co/zyXippwPAF

Wow, I never thought about it as I struggled to breastfeed both my children, a side effect of battling infertility for years. The formula was ESSENTIAL for my children. https://t.co/lEcSOUz451

Try not to talk about things that you clearly haven’t thought about. It’s free and will spare you the embarrassment of showing yourself completely devoid of empathy for those who can’t breastfeed for a variety of reasons.
You don’t always have to go for the cheap dunk. https://t.co/bUwFS6IOWN

Bette Midler always aims for the cheap dunk. That’s all he knows.
Learning before tweeting ignorant things and having a little compassion is also free and available upon request https://t.co/HMOZxBIPDW

Sorry, but obviously Bette Midler can’t afford basic decency.
This makes you look naive.
Milk dries up Not all mothers have the time, money or physical skills.
You already know … what is it?
All that money doesn’t help when there is so much ignorance. https://t.co/3c7QYQnrub
