Aoiyama takes the only lead from Summer Basho while Terunofuji falls further behind

yokozuna Terunofuji suffered his second defeat in the Summer Grand Sumo Tournament on Friday as the No. 11 maegashira Aoiyama took the only lead with a 6-0 record.

Terunofuji, born in Mongolia (4-2), lost to Mongolian veteran No. 3 Tamawashi (5-1) for the third consecutive time. The yokozuna has withdrawn from the spring meeting in March due to injuries and looks far from his best with recurring knee problems.
