Tom Hiddleston hopes his Loki character turning out to be bisexual was “meaningful”

Tom Hiddleston is opening up about its long standing wonder the character of Loki story coming outwhich brings the god of evil closer to his comic strip origin.

The actor reprises the role of Loki in a new Disney + series that bears the same name as his character.

“I was truly honored to be asked,” Hiddleston said The Guardians in a weekend interview about her role in a TV series. “We all wanted to maintain the integrity of the character – I wanted to make sure we didn’t lose the pieces people loved while doing something new.”

“I also hope Loki declaring himself bisexual was meaningful to the people who noticed him,” added Hiddleston. “It was a small step, and there is still a lot to do. But it was definitely important to all of us. ”

Marvel comics portray Loki as queer and gender fluid. While Marvel Studios confirmed Loki’s sexuality in a clip released before the premiere of the Disney + showHiddleston’s character suggests he is bisexual in a scene with a version of himself known as Lady Loki, which goes to Sylvie.

Sylvie asks Loki if he’s interested in “would-be princesses, or maybe another prince?”

“A little bit of both. I suspect like you,” Loki replies.

“Loki” director Kate Herron tweeted about the conversation after the episode aired.

“From the moment I joined Loki it was very important to me and my goal, to recognize that Loki was bisexual”, Herron wrote on Twitter in June. “It’s part of who he is and who I am too. I know this is a small step, but I am happy, and the heart is so full, to say that it is now canon [the] MCU. ”
