Yuki Yanagita plays at home for the second consecutive day as the Hawks beat the Buffaloes

Yuki Yanagita scored for a second consecutive day on Wednesday, giving the green light with a solo seventh inning as the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks kept Pacific League champion Orix Buffaloes 2-1 at bay.

The day after leading the Hawks to a 7-3 victory with his grand slam, Yanagita was once again the hero for the home team at Fukuoka’s PayPay Dome.

With two eliminated and the score locked 1-1, he sent the first pass from right-footed Taisuke Kondo, a 151km / h fast ball, high above the left field fence.

Yanagita’s double RBI gave the Hawks the opening point at the bottom of the former. Orix equalized in the second after Keita Nakagawa tripled, then returned home on a Yuma Tongu sacrifice flight.

SoftBank owner Nao Higashihama (3-1) took the win after going deep seven innings, while Kondo (1-1) was blamed for the defeat.

Yanagita finished 2 out of 4 and recorded his fourth home run of the season.

Elsewhere in PL, the Lotte Marines jumped ahead early before resisting a comeback in their 7-5 win over the Seibu Lions, while the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles in first place were too strong for the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters, winning 5-1

In the Central League, Shugo Maki scored a three-point homer for Yokohama DeNA BayStars, who beat the Chunichi Dragons 7-1, while reigning Japan Series Tokyo champion Yakult Swallows beat the Hanshin Tigers 3-0.
